Accessibility

Fibecheck should work for every fibre shopper.

We use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the engineering baseline for the Fibecheck website and keep accessibility in the release process as the service changes.

Current status

Fibecheck is designed toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We do not yet make a formal claim of full conformance. Merchant-provided content and the independent websites linked from search results are outside Fibecheck’s control.

What the service does

Fibecheck searches live yarn and spinning-fibre listings and lets shoppers refine, preview, save, and follow a listing to the merchant. Fibecheck does not take payment or complete the sale.

Accessibility features

  • Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, status messages, and descriptive control names.
  • Keyboard access, visible focus indicators, skip links, and focus-managed dialogs.
  • Layouts that reflow for narrow screens and browser zoom without requiring horizontal page scrolling.
  • Text and controls designed for Level AA contrast, including Windows forced-colour support.
  • Reduced-motion support and no automatic infinite result loading.
  • Product photos with text alternatives and non-colour cues for selected states.

Known limitations

Product names, descriptions, images, prices, and shop links come from merchants through Shopify’s catalogue. Their completeness and accessibility can vary. A merchant’s own product page, checkout, shipping information, and returns process are governed by that merchant.

If a listing is unclear or inaccessible, contact us with the product title, shop name, and search you used. We can help identify the listing or provide Fibecheck information in another format.

How we review Fibecheck

Accessibility checks include semantic and automated rule review, keyboard interaction, zoom and reflow, contrast, reduced motion, and forced colours. We repeat these checks as the interface and catalogue integrations change.
